Frequently Asked Questions
My name is not in the list. Why? (Admission Exam)
These are the probable reasons why your name is not included in the list of examinees:
1. You did NOT submit your admission requirements. Applicants are advised to hand in / submit the admission requirements to OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS AND SCHOLARSHIPS (beside OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS AND SERVICES (OSAS) .
2. You did not apply online through this link.
3. You submitted UNCLEAR or INCOMPLETE requirements.
4. Your Report Card has NO Academic Year.
Reminders:
Please be reminded that these should have been done during the online submissions and not after the deadline.
Processes and list of requirements can be seen in the Admissions website and GCC Facebook posts.
For queries, please visit the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, from Monday to Friday (except holidays), 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Until what batch of examinees will be posted/announced?
Our team from the Office of Admissions and Scholarship (OAS) entertained and screened a thousand applicants, therefore usually, there’s no certain number of the batch to be released not until the processing of applications is completed.
We recommend you follow GCC Admissions’ Facebook page for the latest announcements and release of results.
What are the basis to be included in the list of examinees?
There are many considerations, and factors to be included in the list of examinees released, such as:
1. Completeness and error-free of the details indicated in the application form;
2. Completeness and error-free attached and submitted requirements;
3. Compliance with the General Weighted Average (GWA) or Grade requirements; and
4. The date and time of submission of the applicant of all of these requirements.
If you believe that you have completed all of these, there’s a probability for you to get included.
I am non-gapan resident, what will be my chance of being enlisted as examinees?
The Gapan City College accepts non-Gapan applicants.
For my information, again, how to compute my General Weighted Average (GWA)?
As indicated on the Google form used on the application and submission of requirements, here’s how you need to know:
For Graduating Senior High School Students, compute your Grade 12 GWA
Grade 12 GWA = (1st Semester GWA + 2nd Semester) / 2
For Senior High School Completers/Graduates, compute for the Average of your Grade 12 GWA
Example:
Grade 12 1st Sem. GWA: 90;
Grade 12 2nd Sem. GWA: 92;
90 + 92 = 182;
182 / 2 = 91;
Average of Grade 12 (GWA) = 91
For Transferees, compute your GWA of all semesters attended or ou may request it GWA certification from you Registrar’s Office.
For OLD Curriculum Transferees, compute your GWA of all the semesters attended.
For 2nd coursers, use the final GWA reflected in your Transcript of Records (TOR)
For ALS Passers, use your passing rate reflected in your ALS Certificate of Rating
How can i follow up my application?
When all batches of examinees have been listed and you cannot find your name, you can send a message for your inquiries or visit the Office of Admissions and Scholarships.
Q: Nakapag apply at nagsubmit na ako ng documents dati, pero hindi ako nagtuloy o nakapasa sa exam. Kailangan ba mag submit ulit ng requirements?
A: No need to submit another set of documents, ic-claim mo na lang ang iyong EXAMINATION PERMIT sa Office of Admissions and Scholarships . Pero kung nag-apply ka na dati as FRESHMEN at mag-aapply ka ngayon as TRANSFEREE, you need to provide additional documents as TRANSFEREE from your previous school.
May entrance exam po ba ang TRANSFEREE?
Hindi na kailangang magtake ng entrance exam ang TRANSFEREE applicants sa GCC.
Can I still change my course in my application?
YES, you are allowed to change you program choice upon interview.
My GPA/GWA doesn’t meet the average required for my first-choice desired program. Is there any chance of getting in?
YES, but you have to enroll first in your second-choice program. Once you achieve the required GPA/GWA for your second-choice program after one semester, the institution will permit you to transfer to your first-choice program on the next semester.
